JOB DESCRIPTION


Gay Men and the Midlife Awakening: Rites of Passage into Midlife is a workshop whose purpose is to support gay men in transitioning to a more purpose-filled second half of life.

We are seeking Coordinators on the ground in cities throughout the country for the workshops by handling promotional, administrative, enrollment and registration functions. The Midlife Awakening Coordinator position is an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of the community while building leadership skills. Income potential is also available; the Midlife Awakening Coordinator will earn a stipend for their services (based on registration) and free participation in the Course. Coordinators may have an opportunity to become involved in facilitating parts of the Midlife Awakening Workshop at the discretion of the leadership of the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Find and coordinate location space
  • Ensure event is effectively promoted in the corresponding city by contacting local media, coordinating press releases and advertising, etc.
  • Make copies of materials
  • Mail homework assignments to participants, including readings and other materials
  • Create and distribute contact list
  • Facilitate enrollment and registration
  • Conduct interviews of prospective participants (must have completed workshop)
  • Handle room-set up and break-down
  • Midlife Awakening Coordinators who are interested may become involved in supporting research and book publishing around Midlife Awakening work. This is not a current job requirement.
